LITURGICAL CALENDAR OF ARMENIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH

The initial edition of the calendar displayed the names of each day along with daily Scripture passages translated into English from the King James version. The subsequent edition has been expanded to incorporate the Liturgy of the Hours, accompanied by concise reflections on each Hour. The upcoming release is poised to incorporate detailed explanations of various festivals and feast days.

• The Book of Hours within the Armenian Church consists of nine distinct services, denoted as: Midnight Time (Matins), Morning Time (Lauds), Sunrise Time (Prime), Third Hour (Terce), Sixth Hour (Sext), Ninth Hour (None). The final three services collectively referred to as Daytime Prayers are succeeded by Evening Time (Vespers), Peace Time, and Night Time (Compline).
• This digital rendition of the Book of Hours is derived from the calendar devised by Catholicos Simeon Yerevantsi in the 18th century. In accordance with this calendar, services are conducted at their designated hours on all days of the calendar, excluding Sundays, Saturdays, and evenings preceding feast days.
• Incorporated within the daily liturgy is the Holy Mass, which may be observed on any given day. This compilation outlines notable days for celebrating the Holy Mass, encompassing significant Sundays, feast days, and commemorative occasions.
• The Book of Hours is rendered in the Old Armenian language (Grabar).
